What are Web Proxies?

Web Proxies are becoming more and more useful in todays world of the Internet. Web proxies have become a tool for schools, colleges and companies to block sites quite easily. Web proxies allow one to browse their favorite websites despite the fact that access to such sites might be blocked by a content filter.

One can use a proxy server if there is a child and restriction to view certain sites has to be made. Only one has to make sure that the correct type of proxy has to be used because not all proxies filter sites. One can also use it to protect ones own interests. It can be used to hide ones IP which is useful because it means hackers can not get info when one is using it. They will only get the proxy servers IP. Proxy servers are not hard to set up. No hardware or software is needed. One just needs to configure the browser to connect through.
